Atlantis Truffle Dosage Guide: Finding Your Right Amount

The dose you choose largely determines how your Atlantis truffle experience will unfold. Too little, and you barely notice anything. Too much, and you end up in an experience you may not be ready for. This guide helps you make a well-considered choice based on your experience level, your body, and your intention.

Atlantis truffles contain psilocybin, a psychoactive compound that your body converts into psilocin. The intensity of the effect is directly tied to the amount of psilocybin you ingest. That makes precise dosing not an afterthought, but a prerequisite for a pleasant experience.

Atlantis truffle dosage chart

The table below outlines the common dosage ranges for fresh Atlantis truffles. Keep in mind that individual sensitivity can vary substantially.

Level Dose (fresh) Expected effects
Microdose 0.5 – 1 g No perceptible trip. Subtle improvement in focus, creativity, and mood. Suitable for regular use following a microdosing protocol.
Low dose 5 – 7 g Mildly mood-enhancing. Gentle colour sensations, greater appreciation for music and nature. Social situations remain easy to navigate.
Medium dose 7 – 10 g Clearly noticeable effects. Visual changes such as more vivid colours and light patterns. Altered time perception, deeper thoughts, and heightened emotional sensitivity.
Standard dose 10 – 15 g Full psychedelic experience. Strong visual effects, deep introspection, possible feeling of unity with surroundings. This is the dosage of a standard Atlantis 15-gram pack.
Strong dose 15 g+ Intense trip with powerful visual and mental effects. Significantly altered consciousness, potentially ego-dissolving experiences. For experienced users only. Available as an Atlantis 30-gram double pack.

Fresh vs dried weight

Nearly all Atlantis truffles you buy online or from a smartshop are sold fresh. This is an important distinction, because fresh and dried weight are not interchangeable. Fresh truffles consist mostly of water. After drying, they lose roughly 90% of their weight while the active compounds remain concentrated in what is left.

The rule of thumb is a ratio of approximately 10 to 1. Ten grams of fresh truffles correspond in psilocybin content to roughly one gram of dried truffles. If you come across a dosage listed in dried weight somewhere, multiply it by ten to arrive at the fresh equivalent.

Fresh truffles are preferred for sale because they require fewer processing steps and better retain their texture and flavour. The drying process is also difficult to carry out properly without specialised equipment. Store fresh truffles in the refrigerator and consume them before the expiration date printed on the packaging.

Factors that affect your dosage

A dosage chart is a helpful starting point, but your actual experience is shaped by several factors. It is wise to weigh these before deciding how much to take.

Body weight. People with a higher body weight generally need a slightly larger dose to achieve the same effect. This difference is less pronounced than with alcohol, however. Someone weighing 90 kilograms does not necessarily need double the dose of someone weighing 55 kilograms.

Experience with psychedelics. If you have never taken truffles or mushrooms before, you may respond more sensitively to a first dose. Your brain is not yet familiar with the altered state of consciousness, which can make the experience feel more overwhelming than the dosage on paper might suggest.

Stomach contents. Take truffles on an empty or light stomach whenever possible. A full stomach slows the absorption of psilocybin, which delays the onset and can make the effects more unpredictable. Eat a light meal two to three hours before taking them, or take them on an empty stomach.

Individual sensitivity. Some people are naturally more sensitive to psilocybin than others. This relates to your unique biochemistry, enzyme levels, and receptor density. You cannot predict this in advance, so always start cautiously.

Medications and interactions. Do not combine truffles with SSRI antidepressants (such as sertraline, fluoxetine, or paroxetine). SSRIs substantially diminish the effect of psilocybin and can make the experience unpredictable. Combining with MAOIs is potentially dangerous and can amplify effects to an uncontrollable degree. Do not use truffles together with lithium either. If in doubt, always consult a doctor.

How to weigh your dose

Guessing the weight of truffles is a poor idea. Truffles vary considerably in size and density. A piece that looks small may weigh more than you expect, and the reverse is equally true. The difference between 8 grams and 12 grams is nearly impossible to see by eye, but in terms of experience it is enormous.

Use a digital kitchen scale with an accuracy of at least 0.1 grams. Scales like this cost only a few euros and are widely available. Place the scale on a flat surface, tare it, and weigh your truffles before you begin. Write down the weight so you can compare next time.

For microdosing, a scale with 0.01-gram accuracy is recommended, since the difference between 0.5 grams and 1 gram has a noticeable impact on the outcome.

First time recommendations

If you have never taken Atlantis truffles before, start with a dose between 7 and 10 grams fresh. This gives you a clearly noticeable experience without the intensity becoming overwhelming. You will get a first impression of the visual and mental effects while remaining grounded enough to move through the experience calmly.

Ensure a safe environment. Choose a place where you feel comfortable, preferably at home or in nature at a familiar location. Put on calm music, have water and easily digestible snacks available. Keep your phone within reach for emergencies, but silence your notifications.

A trip sitter is strongly recommended. This is someone who stays sober and looks after you during the trip. A good trip sitter does not need to do much. The most important thing is being present, staying calm, and reassuring you if you feel uncertain. Especially for a first time, this makes a significant difference in how safe you feel.

Take the truffles on a day when you feel mentally well. Avoid them if you are stressed, anxious, or feeling low. Your state of mind beforehand directly influences how the trip unfolds. Plan enough time as well: count on three to five hours for the trip itself, plus an hour or two to wind down afterward.

Can you redose during a trip?

The short answer: it rarely works well. Your body builds tolerance to psilocybin remarkably fast. Once the compound reaches your receptors, they become partially saturated within about an hour. An additional dose at that point does not produce a proportional boost in effect, but it can extend the trip in a way that is not necessarily pleasant.

If after an hour you feel the dose was too low, the wiser approach is to accept that experience and choose a higher starting dose next time. Redosing often leads to frustration because the expected intensification does not arrive, or to an unwantedly drawn-out experience with an unpredictable character.

After a trip, wait at least two weeks before taking truffles again. During that period, your tolerance resets completely and you can begin the next session with a clean slate. This also gives you time to process your experience and adjust your dosage if needed.
